The definition of wisdom is the ability to discern between falsehood and outright lies, and the truth. Yes, there are truths and one must know them. The longer I look at the world, my own surroundings, consisting of our part of the globe, the more distressed I become. I remember this country quite differently from the time when I first came here. Then, it was not the seething pot of hate I am observing now. What has changed? Most, of my generation of young Americans, had served in one of the branches of the military. They had been stationed in Germany or Asia. They had seen Communism in full force. The soldiers in Germany could look across the border and see the Russian army, complete with imposing marshal gear, ready to cross the border at a call from their leader. The guys coming back from Asia had seen the worst—Communism does not value individuals—it kills indiscriminately. They had acquired a wisdom that stayed with them. They understood where I came from—Communist East Germany—understood the details when I talked about my life there. They had seen “Socialism/Communism” when they travelled in Europe, or had heard people talk about it. The America of today has lost this wisdom, a knowledge acquired through hardship and with blood. Unfortunately, my generation allowed this vital knowledge to be overshadowed by the incessant clamor of the left.

Who of the young generation has taken the time, or been taught, even a small part of history, a minute section of even the immediate past, to make sound judgment of events as they unfold? Yes, here it is–the distinction between today’s learning and wisdom. Learning can be any drivel presented by someone sounding erudite and having a PhD. Wisdom is the difference between the learning of facts and then knowing how to sort truth from fallacy. During a long lifetime I have seen people choose again and again fools-gold instead of the real thing, for fools-gold is easy to get. I know many people who seethe all the time with inner rage, with their one desire—to flagellate anyone who has different thoughts or believes than they do.

Where is wisdom in the Democrat party, choosing for their standard-bearer a man who plagiarized and adopted the speeches of others, vastly superior in thinking, as his own since he was in college?

Wisdom is to know that the man, looking you in the eye, as you finish years of building a business with sweat and denial of self-gratification, saying, “You did not build this, the community did,” that this man has never built anything in his life.

Wisdom is to know that the screaming communist/anarchists, tearing down your cities, statues and communities have never built anything in their lives, or they would be in awe of the greatness they destroy.

Wisdom is to know, that the doctor you called in anaphylactic desperation for an epinephrine injection because your throat was closing, who told you to get Covid-tested first before seeing him, a test that takes three days here, that that doctor is an ass. He is not a healer but a political ball-player who should never be consulted again—on anything. That incident, endured by a friend of mine, put me in greater awe and respect of doctors who saw patients ravaged by the pest, of those who looked after the victims of small pox and cholera—without masks and high-tech gear. They were healers. I dealt with a physician who would not even look at me from ten feet away, masked and gowned, just to fill out a form. Would I trust him to ever help me with anything more severe than that? That is a wisdom call. He seems to be not a doctor but an uninformed part of a science that has gone awry.

Also, wisdom is to know that giving people much money for doing nothing, results in lazy bodies refusing to going back to work. I have seen the results of government largess. Ten of the small businesses I frequent cannot get most of their employees back to work. Wisdom dictates that many of these home-sitting bodies will be out of their jobs—just when the government subsidies stop.

Wisdom also dictates that all of the people and businesses, having allowed my life, and the life of my community, to proceed without interruption and inconvenience, will be highly treasured, rewarded and remain in our lives.

When watching TV, it is wise to know that the people, having taken over a part of Seattle, are not the kind of folks you want living in your neighborhood. You also might wisely discern that you do not want to elect the mayor again, who so smugly allowed the horror of anarchy to descend upon the hapless part of the population enclosed amid the violent, drug-crazed crowd.

Considering this scenario, you might want to acquire the wisdom of the Korean and Russian citizens, who armed themselves with very good guns, and sat alertly in their neighborhoods, ready to defend their properties. That is wisdom—you do not allow usurpers to ruin your life and property—you defend it.

That is the wisdom I would like people to find.
